The mortal remains of Sonaram Chutia consigned to flames in Joraht on Friday two days after the Vaishnavite scholar passed.
Attended by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the funeral function took place with full state honour at Tarajan in presence of thousands of his fans and well wishers in the afternoon.
Before that in the morning thousands of people paid their last respect at the court field. The ashes were brought to a namghar to be built his grave.
