Dispur Vidyalaya Alumni Association is going to organize second alumni meet at the premises of Dispur Government Higher Secondary School on Sunday, 27th January, 2013. The meet will a platform for all the Dvians to come to a common ground and devise ways to better the educational and extracurricular activities for the present set of students studying in this historical school.
It is to be noted that the first chapter of the alumni meet was held last year on 29th January, 2012. The meet helped to forge a bond of community among Dvians from as many batches and a sense of commitment to the betterment of the school. While a website of the school, www.dispurvidyalaya.org, was inaugurated in the presence of the past teachers, the alumnus and distinguished guests present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Dispur Vidyalaya Alumni Association, Bhaskarjyoti Sharma said, “It has been a pleasure to work towards the betterment of the school in our own small meager way. We had a few initiatives that we took last year and we are happy to note that it is going on in the right direction. We have lined up a couple of initiatives that we want to achieve in the ensuing year. This will be in addition to our fun session that we so wonderfully celebrated last year. It was heartwarming to see alumnus from different batches bonding for a common cause. We are hopeful that we will exceed the last year’s attendees’ figure of around 300. This time we are expecting a presence of around 1000 Dvians.”
