Assam Rifles donates equipments to schools

A R donates sports items, computer etc. to schools

In continuation of its Civic Action Programme, the Haflong based 25 Assam Rifles under aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles provided Sports Equipment, Computers with Printers and Water tank to Dibrai High School and PMS High School, Moulhoi, Dima Hasao .

Commandant, 25 Assam Rifles handed over the items to the school authorities. Principal and teachers with school students, school staff, head man of Dibrai, Moulhoi and local villagers were present for the programme. A small cultural show was also organized by the students of the school.  The Commandant promised that more such welfare measures will be undertaken by the Assam Rifles for the remote villages of Dima Hasao Dristrict  for helping the needy people of the district. The Principal of Dibrai High School and PMS School Moulhoi and entire staff of school expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for this magnanimous gesture.

The Commandant conveyed his best wishes to all the students and urged them to work hard to become able citizens of the state.  The event witnessed unprecedented synergy between the civil population and the security forces and will definitely help to foster good relations between them.

During the 2nd Day of the 100 hours NCHills Bandh suspected bandh supporters remove fish plate of the railway track near Lower Haflong Rly Station at about 2.50 PM resulting to the derailment of down goods train bound for Badarpur with no injury to any person. Railway personals and police rush to the spot to restore the communication. The NC. Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum sponsored 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh started from 6 PM on Friday disrupted the normal life at Haflong. Due to 4th Saturday all the offices remain closed. No vehicle was seen on the road except of security. The NCHISF has been demanding immediate bifurcation of N. C. Hills into two Autonomous District with separate Autonomous Council.
