Baoringdao Bodo, son of Jiban Bodo of Haflong popularly known as ‘football juggler boy’ of Dima Hasao, Captain, U-14, Sub-Junior International Indian footballer was accorded grand welcome on his arrival at Lower Haflong Railway station on Wednesday.
A colorful procession was taken out from Lower Haflong Station and marched through the major parts of Haflong and converged at Town Raji Community Hall. This was followed by felicitation by various organisations. Under the president ship of Anil Daolagupu, Gaon Bura, Haflong Town a well attended meeting was also held in this connection. Samarjit Haflongbar, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council on behalf of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council also felicitated this footballer of Haflong as well as Dima Hasao.
Baoringdao Bodo started his football life right from 11 years of age when he was a student of class VII of Haflong Don Bosco. Inspired by one his teacher he joined the Sports Authority of India and played U-14 in various places from district level to International level organized by All India Football Federation, AFC etc. He also participated in Subrata Mukharjee Cup Football tournament in 2011 in Sub-Junior (under—14).
Talking to this correspondent, Baoringdao said he wants to be an International footballer and to play in other countries representing own country- India. He disclosed that to achieve such dream to be true ‘discipline’ ‘perseverance’ and of course, confidence is to be maintained. People of Dima Hasao offered their best wishes to this ‘football juggler boy’ Baoringdao to be successful in his aim and prayed for his healthy long life.
