PK Borthakur appointed ONGC Director (offshore)

An illustrious son of Assam, Pronip Kumar Borthakur has assumed the charge of Director (Offshore) of the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) on October 31, 2012. Borthakur has formally taken over the operational responsibility of the prestigious role from Sudhir Vasudeva, CMD, ONGC. Having a formidable professional experience of 35 years with ONGC, Borthakur has spent 24 years at the helm of various sections and groups in the organization.

A handicraft and handloom fair is pulling huge crowd in Nazira where local products seem to have been received good response.People in large number have visited the week long fair at Nazira MC Club from May 5 organized by industry and commerce department.  The focus of attraction was the saler-buyer meet where both sides shared their views.  Talking to Assam Times assistant director of industry department Babul Hazirika said the response was encouraging.

ONGC Assam Asset fears major disruption in its functionings following the ongoing strike of the motor vehicle labour union. In a press release on Thursday, it said that it was ONGC is not directly involved with the demands raised by the Motor vehicle labour union.
