Edu-journalism Day Celebrated

Under the auspices of Paresh Baishya Foundation,a trust for enrichment of Education and Journalism, the Edu Journalism Day synchronizing with the 55th birthday of Paresh Baishya,a reputed writer & journalist,was observed at the Gauhati Press Club, September 15 with Dr. Gunaram Khanikor, a reputed herbal physist in the chair. Dr. Nirmal Kumar Chaudhary, former V.C Gauhati University & Mohan Ch. Malakar, Commissioner,Assam State Information Commission graced the event as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively.


In the meeting prizes for the Best Teacher to Keshab Ch. Kalita of Modartala Vidyapith High School, Best School Award to Angels' English School, Sualkuchi & the awards for the Dr.Gunaram Khanikor Drawing Contest was awarded.Besides released the dissertation on 'Contribution of Dainik Asom to the Assamese Society' prepared as Indrani Buragohain who won Paresh Baishya Fellowship in Journalism for this purpose, together 10 books meant for children and written by Paresh Baishya was released in the meeting.Among others Dr.Abani Kumar Bhagwati,Dr.Dayananda Pathak and Journalist Shib Prasad Deka attended the meeting as Special Guest.The meeting was jointly organized under auspices of the foundation & Saraighat Journalist Forum.

Taher, educationist, Dr. Dipesh Bhagabati, eminent Psychiatrist of Guwahati Medical College, Thaneswar Malakar, Director Minorities Devolopment Board, Assam and Dr. Basanta Kumar Das Former Secretary SEBA attended the meeting as guests of honour. Prof. Naren Sarma Presided over the function. On this occaision a book under title "Safalatar Mantra" edited by Paresh Baishya was released.

A parents meet was held at Rampur Higher Secondary School, at at 2.30 pm on June 13 under the auspices of Paresh Baishya Foundation Parent School. Paresh Baishya, Manging Trustee of the Foundation delivered a lecture on "Scientific Behaviour of Parents and Future of Children" while Kanchan Chaudhary, Lecturer of Fakruddin Ali Ahmed College, Goroimari attended the meet as special guest. Ranjit Das, Principal of Rampur Higher Secondary School presided over the meet. Another prominnet peson, M Hasem Pear also attended the programme as speaker.
