All Assam Students Union has warned the government not to allow the immigrants to settle in the name of rehabilitation package. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, the AASU leaders said that they would keep a close vigil on the rehabilitation works to ensure that not even a single immigrant is allowed to get the benefit.

Bodo must look after themselves, do not fall to sweet talk of Gogoi, Sonia or Shinde. They will butcher Bodos for vote bank. We all know about AIUDF, a terrorist organization. ULFA Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa has moved a local TADA court in Guwahati seeking bail in connection with six cases pending against him. It will not be so difficult for Rajkhowa to procure bail in view of Dispur's decision not to oppose the bail petitions of these top ULFA leaders. The process to hold talks between ULFA and the government seems to have reached a crucial point when the outfit's top leader Bhimakanta Buragohain was released on bail on Sunday. Folk singer Rameswar Pathak passed away at a private nursing home in Guwahati on Friday. Congress high command has given AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh the party affairs in Assam in place of Union Minister M Veerappa Moily.
