AGP dhanra in new Delhi on Monday

The Asom Gana Parishad will stage a dharna in New Delhi on Monday demanding ST status for five communities in the state.

Speaking to Assam Times, the leaders say the government has been downplaying the issues confronting these six communities.

If these are not addressed once again blood will spill on the streets in fatricidal clashes.

They are utterly dissatisfied with the recent statement of Union home minister Shivraj Patil rejecting ST status for the tea tribes.
