The Board of Secondary Education, Assam on Friday announced the results of the HSLC and AHM examination it conducted in February-March. Gyandeep Sarma from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan in Bokakhat, Bhaswati Deka from St. Mary’s English High School in Maligaon and Stuty Khound from Shankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan in Biswanath Chariali topped HSLC examination this time leaving many reputed schools red-faced.


The percentage of successful candidates this year is 69.63 where altogether 2,78, 704 candidates appeared. Altogether 1,94,067 candidates have cleared the HSLC examination out of whom 26,203 have been ranked in first division and 68,180 candidates have secured second division. The first fourth rank holders are Gyandeep Sarma from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan in Bokakhat, Bhaswati Deka from St. Mary’s English High School in Maligaon and Stuty Khound from Shankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan in Biswanath Chariali. Shahinoor Rahman from Bijni Bandhab HS School, Parijat Priyadarshin from St Josephs Convent High School in Tezpur ranked second top position. Priyanka Bezbaruah from Udayan Santi Niketan in Bezera is smiling with third top position while the fourth position goes to Neha Sharma from Holy Child School in Guwahati with Priyanka Medhi from Lokpriya GNB High School in Morigaon district. On the other hand, the number of successful candidates in the high madrassa examination this time stands at 5475 out total 7931. The percentage of successful candidates is 69.03. Of them, 230 have been placed in first division while 2172 have secured second division. The fifty per cent holders are set to get lap top this year.

Assam board 10th Class Result in 2014 is going to be declared very soon. Candidates can check result from official website i.e.  resultsassam.nic.in.

Rail blockade against petrol price hike

Hundreds of Left party workers in Rongiya, Bongaigaon and Dhubri blocked trains for several hours in protest against the petrol price hike. CPI, CPM workers in large number spilled to the streets and blocked the train for several hours raising red flags in support of the country-wide bandh call to protest petrol price hike. Encounter in Sivasagar: ULFA militant killed

Police claimed to have killed a hardcore ULFA militant at an encounter in Sibsagar district on Wednesday.Acting on specific information, a joint team of police and CRPF's Black Cobra forces launched an operation at Namsai area on Tuesday mid-night and an encounter took place early on Wednesday morning. PAC members attacked in Nagaon

A group of Congressmen attacked PAC members after it assessed some agriculture and rural development schemes in Nagaon district on Tuesday. HS results on June 4; matric results to be delayed

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council will announce the results of the HS examination, 2012 on June 4.In a statement issued by the council on Tuesday, the council said that the results of science, arts and commerce streams would be available simultaneously at 11 in the morning in all district headquarters on that day. On the other hand, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam will not be able to announce the HSLC results before June 10. According to sources, the examiners are still compiling the marks in different zonal centres.

Spider terror spreading to Guwahati

Within a brief spell of one month the killer spiders have reached Guwahati. One person has been injured when two venomous spiders attacked him on Monday night. The incident of spider attack took place in Gootanagar area near Maligaon in Guwahati. According to the injured person, two big spiders were spotted in the evening and attacked him before trying to escape. Later, he was rushed to the hospital. Notably, spider terror initially struck at Sadiya where one person died and ten others are undergoing treatment after they were attacked.
