Umrangso kidnapping accused nabbed
In a major breakthrough the prime accused Chandra Phancho involved in kidnapping and killing of Col. J. Sandhu (55), Deputy General Manager, J. P. Cement Ltd and Romen Sharma (52) Deputy Manager, Assam Mining Development Corporation was arrested by Haflong police on Sunday from Bagetar Railway station at about 7 PM.
It is learnt that both Col. J. Sandhu (55), Asstt. Manager, J. P. Cement Ltd and Romen Sharma (52) Deputy Manger, Assam Mining Development Corporation were kidnapped by some unidentified miscreants on November 25th last.
Their bodies were recovered from Lungdang karbi village 20 KM from Umrangso under Umrangso Police Station on Thursday 22 December. From his confession the NSCN involvement in this kidnapping and killing of Col. J. Sandhu (55), Deputy General Manager, J. P. Cement Ltd and Romen Sharma (52) Deputy Manager, Assam Mining Development Corporation was exposed.
