Court to tackle menace of ccorruption

At last judiciary comes as a sole saviour of common people to save from the pang of corruption. Now onwards a special court will hear corruption cases of government officials as well as public representative.

Some special courts will be set up to tackle corruption in Assam along with rest of the country in accordance with a recent direction of the supreme court of India. Anyone could lodge a complaint whenever he or she witnesses mal-practices of government officials directly or by post. The court will take all the corruption charges ranging from higher bureaucracy to panchayat level.

People can lodge complaint with the court submitting evidence of the mal-practice of a government official or people’ representative. The court will keep the identity of complainant secret if necessary and give orders to the chief minister’ special vigilance cell or other anti-corruption agencies to probe the allegation.

The court directed that investigation of such cases will have to be done only by a deputy superintendent level or an inspector level police officer. The special court magistrate will pronounce judgment after submission of a charge-shit by the investigative officer.

People from all walks could lodge such complaints across the state. Meanwhile a special court under justice Majed Ali recently directed six hundred odd officers including IAS and ACS officers to present physically before the court for their alleged involvement with various scams. The special court did it in accordance with the direction of the Supreme Court.
