Goregaon Rongali Bihu celebration 2012


The ceremonial lamp was lit by Mrs Gayatri Borthakur and Srimati Chapala Bhuyan and rich tribute was paid to late Dr Bhupen Hazarika. This was followed by a variety of cultural items which kept the audience enthralled for hours. (Chorus by the ladies of Goregaon, Children Group Bihu Dance, a Dance based on Bhupendra Sangeet performed by Puja Baruah, Group Bihu Dance by the students of IIT Mumbai, Husari performed by a team from Navi Mumbai led by Ritu Sensoa, Songs performed by Avijit Das,Nilavro Bora,Sarodi Bora,Sarmistha Chakravarty & Keshav Barua.The entire programme was anchored by Riturporna Borgohain).


During the celebration organising committee felicitated Director Bidyut Kotoky,National Award Winner Debojit Changmai,Musician Ibsonlal Baruah & Kalyan Baruah.


The evening ended with a Husori. After the celebration packet dinner was served and the same were appreciated by all.

During the celebration, Sri Paban Kumar Kotoky, president of the Assam Association,Mumbai,Smt Deepa Jahan, vice president and Sri Deepen Rajkonwar,General Secretary addressed audience. Mr.Rajkonwar appealed the public that “Aponalokor hokriyo sohai hohoyug aru gothonmoolak diha poramorsoi aamak bhobishyote Mumbait aru odhik onusthan anusthit korat anupranito koribo”.
