Science Exhibition in Dima Hasao


To stimulate and inculcate interest in science and technology among the students and also to help them to explore and encourage scientific and technological talents among the children a two Day District Level Science Exhibition "Bigyan Jeuti" was organized on 10th and 11th April, 2012, under the aegis of Rastriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan, Dima Hasao, Assam at Government Girl's Higher Secondary School, Haflong.


Shri. Kalijoy Sengyung, EM i/c Education, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council ceremonially inaugurated the programme on April 10. Addressing the large gathering he called upon the teachers to encourage their students to take full advantage of this science exhibition to showcase their talents. The Inspector of Schools, Shri. R. Rongpi who also holds the District Programme Co-ordinator, RMSA and the Convenor of the District Level Science Exhibition Committee talks about the main objectives of the Exhibition.


The event is expected to instill a sense of pride to the students in their talents and encourage a problem solving approach by developing the appropriate technologies, especially for rural areas. The subject matter of the Science Exhibition is Science, Society and Environment, Food and Security, Energy and Resource, Conservation etc. Along with the exhibition, different programmes including Quiz Competition, Essay Writing and Debate were also organized during the Two Day Programme. The Opening ceremony was also attended by EM, DHAC Smt. Ranu Langthasa, Executive Member, DHAC, Officials and by many school fraternities.
