DHD distributes relief to Kolaidisa
To provide relief materials and assistance to the villagers, Dilip Nunisa, Chairman, DHD along with DHD leaders visited Kolaidisa village of Dima Hasao on Sunday where 15 houses were burnt due to jungle fire on Thursday last.
Mention may be made that the 15 houses including APBn camps in village Kolaidisa, some 70 km from Maibang located at the Assam – Nagaland border were burnt due to jungle fire in which the entire populace have lost their all the belongings. At present they are sheltered under trees, but none from the administration could reach the village till date for the reason best known to them.

Dima Hasao Police arrested one Karunakanta Medhi aged 55 years of Pathsala in Barpeta district from a hotel at Haflong on Tuesday. Medhi was reportedly collecting money for providing service of teacher in the name of Mother Teachers Association particularly from women. He was later produced at Haflong court and sent to jail.

The first engine of a goods train bound for Lumding fell down in river near Dautuhaja Railway Station on Saturday at about 5.30 pm as the driver of the train violating the signal proceeded with heavy speed. Both driver and his assistant received injuries and shifted to Lumding. It is learnt that train was supposed to stop at Daotuhaja and only after getting the signal he should proceed but the points man who was basically a porter allowed the driver to proceed and the driver suddenly sped up resulting to derailment.
