Ginoria body found in Nagaland
The suspense over the abduction of businessman Kailash Ginoria came to an end with the recovery of his dead body at the tributary of Mikang River in Lungsang Basti under Bhandari Police Station in Nagaland located about three kilometers away from Merapani at around 9.30 am in the morning. Kailash Ginoria was kidnapped on 10th March from Jorhat town and since then Jorhat police has launched a massive search operation to trace Ginoria and in this connection had arrested fourteen suspects. Among them it was Rajiv Lala Rahman who spilled the beans about the kidnapping and directed the police team to the very spot where the dead body of abducted Ginoria was recovered. There were two bullet marks on the body of Ginoria and his feet were tied. It was revealed by the kidnappers that Ginoria was killed on 11th March and during all these days his body had deteriorated beyond recognition.

The 3rd day of the 71st session of Assam Sahitya Sabha was marked by a vivid and colourful cultueal procession. The 71st Conference of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, began today at Bhasar Uja Hemchandra Barua Khetra, Dergaon in the district of Golaghat. The entire place wore a festive look with the residents, irrespective of caste and community, preparing to host the conference.

Noted freedom fighter, writer, social worker and Assam’s former Agriculture and Co-operative Minister between 1967 and 1978 Soneswar Bora passed away at Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat at around 5 am today morning. In a bizzare incident involving CRPF, one CRPF jawan was killed and another was critically injred when an exchange of fire took place between themselves. The incident took place at around 8.00 PM in the Tetelitol CRPF Check Point at Golagat. One Ruganeh Singh from Rajasthan was killed on the spot and Venkatesh Barlu from Andra Pradesh was critically injured in the incident. The other jawan succumbed to injuries later.
