5th Biennial conference of Nazira district Employees Council concludes

The 5th Biennial Conference of Nazira district Employees Council was held at Simaluguri Natya Mandir on February 18, with day-long programme. In the open session Bakhab Chandra Kolita, President, Nagen Das, Secretary General , All Assam Employees Council, Debobrata Saikia, MLA, Nazira, Prabin Kumar Sarma, Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar were present as special guests. The meeting was presided by Bidya Dutta, President, Nazira District Employees Council.

Simoluguri Police, in a tip-off, seized the several cartons of Tez guthka packets amounting to Rs.24,000 from one Juri Begum of Santak, Bogdai Gaon who brought the gutkhas to Santak from Jorhat on September 20. According to her confession, she sells these amount of Guthka every month from an agent, Rantu by name of Jorhat with the co-operation of Bitupon Khound of Sivasagar town every month in her place and the bordering state, Nagaland.
