Research book on literature released at Nazira
The Woman cell of Nazira College has published a book on Assamese literature "Akhaidha Hadhan", which is released by Aboni Borthakur, Founder and retired Principal of Nazira college. Some essential topics of noted litterateurs are included in this book which is edited by Luis Handique and Sujata Borthakur, lecturers of Nazira college.

Me-dam-me-phi, the auspicious festival of Tai-Ahom community is celebrated at several places in Sivasagar district on Tuesday. It is celebrated at the historical Talatal Ghar by the historical monuments preservation committee, at Shiva Dol by Ahom Raj Chora and at Gorgaon Palace by ATASU. On yesterday evening, at Laxmijan stone quarry under Nazira police station of Sivasagar district, Urmila Khatun (29) and her three years son Mejajin Ali died on spot in a stone quarry mishap under 6no quarry of his Mahadev Kurmi is the contractor.
