Foundation stone of statue Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Bokota


The foundation stone of legendary singer, Dr Bhupen Hazarika is laid at “Joya Samonoy Khetra”, Joya tini-Ali, Bokota in Sivasagar district by Mrs Abonti Pame-gum Chetia, noted Mishing folk artist, All India Radio’s singer and Ex. Teacher of Dhitai pukuri higher secondary school on Silpi Divas. The programme was organised by Bokota-Nongolamora Jibon-jyoti Sangha. In this programme, veteran sportsman, Jugen chetia, noted social worker Nandeswar Borah, the teachers and students of Nongolamora L.P. school, Bokota-Joya M.E. School and Bokota-Joya girls high school were present.

Simoluguri Police, in a tip-off, seized the several cartons of Tez guthka packets amounting to Rs.24,000 from one Juri Begum of Santak, Bogdai Gaon who brought the gutkhas to Santak from Jorhat on September 20.
