Centre sanctioned 3600 core for BVFCL
After continuous demand and discussion the Namrup based Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Ltd will receive rupees 3600 core allocation from the union government. A new urea production unit with 8.64 lakh ton capacity will be installed in this unit. This is disclosed by a high level official of the ministry of Fertilizer at Delhi. The Brahmaputra Fertilizer Corporation will take loan and sale equity to the share market. All the preliminary observation have been completed in this purpose. The oil India limited also agree to supply required gas to this fertilizer unit for future. Besides the central fertilizer ministry is discussing with the “National Chemical & Fertilizer Corporation” and Assam government for joint venture wit them.
According to the ministry official, on 16 January, with the new Urea production unit they will fulfil the fertilizer requirement of the North-eastern region. Daily 1.72 million standard cubic metre of gas will be required for the new unit.
At present the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation has three units. The official of the concerned ministry also confesses the electricity, gas supply and mechanical problem of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation, which is now suffering for its existence.
