Assam Assembly Begins Winter Session on Stormy Note

The Assam Assembly began its winter session on a stormy note on Monday. The House witnessed uproar when tHe united opposition members tried to corner the government alleging powerful minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma"s nexus with ULFA which the banned insurgent outfit itself disclosed> apart from it the opposition AGP, BJP, AIUDF, and Left parties demand immediate resigntion of Dr Sarma. Big dam issue is also set to stall the House proceedings in the five day long session.The government is also ready to counter the opposition camp. A slew of crucial bills are slated to be tabled in this winter session to be adjourned sine die on Friday.
