Rich tributes paid to Dr Bhupen Hazarika at Raha
A pioneer of Assamese music and cinema Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s death has been deeply and widely mourned by all walks of people and the members of different socio-cultural and other organizations at Raha. The Raha town committee, Raha unit of AASU, NSUI, AJYCP, Raha Sports Assocition, Raha Press club, Business community, and several other socio-cultural organizations offered their condolences and prayed for eternal peace for his departed soul.
The residents of Raha also lighted an earthen lamp in front of their houses in respect to the departed soul of Dr. Hazarika who came to Raha in 2002 to join a Bihu programme. A local bandh was also observed today from 6 a.m to 1 p.m as part of tribute to the departed soul of “ The jajabr ”

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens.
