Vehicles burnt at Phulani, more that 20 detained


On the eve of the substantial accord to be signed between the Central Government and UPDS outfit on October 24, protest is being surfaced by the different student organizations against the different anti-non Karbis clauses of demands submitted by the UPDS outfit. While, protesting against the different anti non-Karbi clauses of demands, a 24-hour Karbi Anglong bandh has been called from Thursday 5 am by the All Assam Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Garo Students’ Union, Gorkha Students’ Union and Surrendered Adivasi National Liberation Army (S-ANLA).


One TATA mobile and one Tempo were burnt in two separate places. According to police, a Nagaon-Diphu bound TATA mobile truck registration bearing No AS-02E/4576 was set on fire at NH-36 near Phulani Gaon at around at 5.30 am and another was burnt at Rongkut Matikhola at around 5.15 pm under Uttar Borbil outpost of Howraghat police station at around 5.30 am.


It may be mentioned here that more than 20 people from Langhin Tiniali, Pamgaon and Phulani gaon have pick up by the police in connection with the vehicles burning. At present the situation is prevailed tense.
