Dispur College organised an All Guwahati Inter College quiz competition on 16th September. This competition has been started in 2009 and this year it was for second time which was attended by different colleges of the city. After the preliminary round it was participated by 6 teams. The team from Cotton College comprising Deep Jyoti Deka and Uddipta Hazarika bagged the first position while team from Gauhati Commerce College comprising Bhaskar Sarma and Uddipta Narayan Bora bagged second and team from B Borooah College comprising Debabrate Saikia and Subrata Talukdar bagged third position.
The competition was conducted by Ranjan K Baruah of North East Youth Foundation. Winners were given prize money along with trophies. It was inaugurated by C M Sarma , President of the Dispur College Management Committee. Prizes were distributed by Dr Amar Saikia, Principal of Dispur College and the competition was well coordinated by Sashi Mohan Das, Faculty of Dispur College. Students from different colleges and institutes apart from teachers and students of Dispur College attended the quiz competition.

Supreme Court on Wednesday talked of two options before the government to end the decade old Assam-Nagaland border row. Taking up a petition in the apex court, a division bench headed by Justice TS Thakur said the dispute could be resolved either by deciding the 1988 law suit filed by Assam or by referring the matter for arbitration.The court further asked the Assam counsel to file the list of its witnesses along with their testimonies in the form of affidavits with the apex court registrar within three months.
