Naac Team’s On Site Visit To Namrup College


A NAAC peer team comprising Dr Aribinda Kr. Das, Exve Kalyani University and presently Director International Quality Assurance cell (IQAC) Bardkaman University, Dr.Mehrajuddin Mir. Chairman Peer Team and Prof Dept of Law Kishmir University, Dr. M Nagarajun, Principal-Silvere Jublie Govt. College Karmool, Andra Pradesh, Member NAAC Peer Team a three days visit to Namrup College From Aug 25 to 27 for validation of reaccreditation respect (RAR).


On first day the Peer Team interacted with the Principal, Namrup College Internal quality Assurance cell’s (IQAC) Chief Co-ordinator Prof P.R. Sadhanidara and additional co-ordinator Prof Jitu Buragohain respectively on different criteria of the college which was followed by Lunch on meeting with the college Governing body members. The team had met the teaching members of 13 academic departments and checked the continuous professional developments and performances.


On the 2nd day the team visited to other department of the college viz-IGNOU study center KKHSOU study center, English literacy Association and Spoken English, Network Resource Center, Women’s Cell, Health center, Botanical Garden NSS and so.


On the last day of their on rite visit the Peer Team submitted the re-accreditation report in the Exit meeting to the Principal i/c of the A K Das animated the exit meet with a speech on the fast changing education scenario of the world. Das said the teacher introduce themselves as Ph.D. holder senior teacher introduce themselves as without Ph.D., all must be Ph.D. holders if the senior teachers remain in this position they may humiliated by Juniors . After that exit meet rounded off, and thanks offered by Prof P.R. Sadhanidar-Dept of English, NRP College of Chief Co-ordinator of the IQAC Namrup College.

Baba Ramdev of Patanjali fame will address a massive gathering of admires and yoga practitioners at Namrup on Feb 21 next as a part of countrywide BHARAT SWAVIMAN SAJAGATA Campaign. This was finalised at Namrup Patanjali Yoga Committee meeting held recently. A reception committee was fromed for the event with Dr. Tapan Sharma as president and Binu Bhagawati as secretary.
A fire broke out in the early morning of Thursday at Namrup town which destroyed result properties worth 40 lakh approximately. Residence of Atul Saha including his shop was destroyed. The fire also destroyed part of UCO Bank.
Umesh Roy (14), son of Sivsaran Roy, was found dead on September 20 at Namrup. The reason of the death was believed to be regular consumption of gutkha (sikhar). According to his parents, he goes to school as well as works in a shop to support the family. Sometimes he suffered stomach pain and on September 20 he was vomiting and died on the way to hospital. According to local people who are close to Umesh, he use to consume an average of 20 packets of sikhar daily. The post mortem report said stomach ulcer and bleeding.
"Ranga Prabhate Gaan" - a collection of Assamese progressive songs is released at Dibrugarh Chauolkhowa Music College recently. Producer and director Dr. Mohesh Deka of MD films and Music says "the songs are composed mainly on progressive ideas based on unity, peace and harmony in the present day society".
