Faith in Action

Faith in Action (FIA), a martial arts group from Nagaland, which has entered into the quarterfinals round of “India’s Got Talent Season 3”, received a standing ovation in the quarterfinals, after their brilliant performance. The event was shot at EyeDeam Studio, Mumbai with hosts Cheng and Gautam.

The Reality show is being judged by Bollywood superstar Dharemendra, Sonali Bendre and Kiron Kher

The show would be telecast on September 3 at 9 p.m. at Colors channel and a repeat telecast on the same channel on September 4 at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Right after the telecast on September 3, the voting lines would be open for the public till 9 a.m. next morning.

The show would have two Bollywood celebrities, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade.

FIA team leader, Deep Kumar, who is leading a 10-member team to the Reality Show has appealed to the people of Nagaland and Northeast to vote for them so that they emerge as winners. People can vote through SMS by typing FAI and sending it to 56882.
It may be mentioned here that FIA is the only team from the entire Northeast, which was selected during the screening round held last month.

Bir Chilarai Day today

Ganguly, Dhoni ready for action in Guwahati

Narrow escape for Dasmunsi, Dwijen Sarma

Union minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and Oscar Fernandage today had a narrow escaped from a major accident when their helicopter caught in bad weather while he was returning from North Tripura district after campaigning for Congress candidates with Prime Minister. His helicopter had to roam in the air for more then half an hour before the pilot managed to noseland in Agartala. In yet another incident, a helicopter in the same route also met the same fate in which union minister Oscar Fernandage was traveling with Assam Rajya Sabha MP Dijwen Sharma.

Lachit Bordoloi hospitalized, not produced in court

The police could not produce the arrested PCG member and MASS leader Lachit Bordoloi before the court as he has been rushed to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital following his ailment police on Tuesday failed to produce him before the Kamrup district judicial magistrate. Gogoi to table state budget on Mar 10

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who also hold the finance portfolio, will table the state budget for 2008-2009 on the floor of the Assam Assembly session on March 10. 4 killed, 2 injured in Black Widow strike in Umrangsu

The gun has yet to fall silent atop the North Cachar hills. In yet another strike, the Black Widow militants killed four people of the Vinoy Cement Factory on Tuesday in Umrangsu at a distance of more than 100 from Haflong. Assam Bandh total, peaceful

Normal life in the state has come to a grinding halt across the state due to the 12-hour Assam bandh on Tuesday. Called by the United Liberation Front of Asom, the bandh is by and large peaceful. There is no report of any incidents during this period. Schools, colleges, offices, business, financial and establishments are remaining closed. All sorts vehicles are remaining off from the streets.
