The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) appeals to its former leaders and workers to come to the main fold back to strengthen regionalism.
Addressing a function organised to mark the party foundation day in Mirza on Sunday, AGP president regionalism parties should come up with an agenda to develop the state.
Mr Goswami also stressed renewing the peace process with the ULFA saying the onus was on the Centre to restart the peace talks.
Reiterating support to the demand for ST status by the six ethnic communities of the State, the AGP president said the status would further strengthen the unity and bonhomie among the indigenous people.
According to Mr Goswami, the government must update the NRC and implement all the clauses of the Assam Accord to the point to avoide the influx issue confronting the statye for decade.
In his address, party general secretary Dilip Saikia urged the Centre to dismiss the Tarun Gogoi Government for failing to live upto the people’s expectations.
All the speakers in the function called upon its workers to to get ready for the Panchayat polls and thereby to to defeat the Congress.
The party hoisted the flag at its headquarters by president followed by homage to the martyrs of the Assam movement by Joseph Toppo.
The central function was organized by the Palashbari unit of the party in collaboration with the Kamrup district committee.
