64th Independence Day observed at Barpeta

Along with the rest of the country in Assam at Barpeta district also the 64th Independence Day was observed with tight security with various programmes. The National Flag, on the occasion of this remarkable day was unfurled by the agriculture minister of Assam Nilmoni Sen Deka. Addressing on the occasion NIlmoni SEn Deka remembered the departed souls of the freedom fight who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation. In his address he explained in detail about the various schemes that was taken by the government . In this Independence Day eve the freedom fighters of the district and the sports persons and students of the districts who had brought laurels to the field of sports. On the other hand,the cultural programme which was performed by the artist on this occasion also very attractable one. ON this I- Day eve all the Barpetians were present. Barpeta town business Association and Barpetaq Road business Association distributed fruits and sweets at Fakharudddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital.The programme completed peacefully here at Barpeta.
