A hardcore rhino poacher was killed and four others managed to escape during an encounter with forest guards in Kaziranga on Tuesday.
The encounter took place in the evening at Kanchanjuri area in Bagori sector of the national park.
Forest guards recovered a rifle from the spot after the encounter. But operation continued for several hours in search of the poachers who managed to flee from the spot.
