The Shreemoyee Asomiya Mahila Samiti (SAMS), Mumbai under the banner of Sadou Asom Lekhika Somaroh Samannoy Shakha Samiti (SALSSSS) Mumbai organized the “Asomiya Bhasa Shikhkhar Aachoni” for the children of probashi Assamese families in Mumbai. The lessons were distributed through e-mail. A written & oral examination in three categories (for different ages ) was held on July 31, at Assam Bhwan, Mumbai. Veteran lady Sjta Neeti Barua & the president of SAMS Bina Saikia, lighted the lamp & inaugurated the program. A devotional Assamese song was sung by the children & members of SAMS. An “old assamese story” telling session was also organized and story was told by Neeti Barua. The students who secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd position were awarded and all participant were awarded with a consolation prize. The Judges of the examination were Gayatri Barua, Mala Khaund, Dipali Borgohain & Neeta Dutta. The Program was anchored by Indrani Borpujari, Jt Secy. Hazarika, G. secy. SAMS on her speech announced the upcoming programs of the “Asomiya Bhasa Shikhkhar Aachoni”.
