Devojit Phukan, President of Vox-Populi, an NGO working in various RTI activities, who was the chief Resource Person on the occasion said that any information gains the value only if it reaches the common man and the officials should understand it. He also said that the 'Right to Information Act 2005' (RTI) is intended not only towards the fulfillment of constitutionally granted rights of the people as part of their personal liberty but also to make functioning of each of the Government Department, more transparent, accountable and obligating them to take the necessary corrective measure.
