KMSS observe jail bharo at Golaghat
As a part of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity’s(KMSS) state wide call for Jail Bharo demanding the release of the peasant leader and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi and protesting the killing of innocent people, around 1,300 KMSS and Nari Mukti Sangram Samity’s supporters took out an impressive ‘Jail Bharo’ march and courted arrest in Golaghat. The supporters of KMSS, led by KMSS leader Soneswar Narah, gathered in front of the District Jail in Bogorijeng and dared the police to arrest them. The Police later arrested and shifted the protestors to a make-shift jail at General Field. Narah said that the police tortured and brutally manhandled the protestors and several protestors receive severe injury. Narah was also injured at his chest and later had difficulty in breathing. Among those who receive severe injury are Jutika Rajbongshi (23), Mamoni Saikia (50), Puna Bora (50), Lulu Gogoi (37).
