KMSS’s 12 hr Assam Bandh, total at Raha

The 12 hour Assam Bandh called by the farmers’ body KMSS in protest against the arrest of its leader Akhil Gogoi today is being widely felt across at Raha. The plying of vehicles, both private and public, was off the road. The normal life has been hit as offices, shops and other business enterprises remained closed. The schools and colleges remained off during the bandh hours. Almost all the offices including nationalize Banks, Post Office and other central and the state government remained closed due to the bandh.Talking to this correspondent , some businessmen of the locality said that they have been supporting the bandh voluntarily as they had felt Akhil Gogoi's arrest unjust.

It is necessary to add here that the bandh supporters exempted all the schools of the locality in which half yearly exams were going on. No untoward incident is reported till writing this report.
