State PWD and Urban Development Minister Ajanta Neog, today said higher education has been getting a facelift during the Cong(i) Govts regime. Inaugurating the Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya, a private junior college in Golaghat, Ajanta Neog expressed her happiness as the college would cater to the education needs of the poor and downtrodden. Biswajit Phukan, the Managing Director of the newly founded college said that Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya will provide free admission to students securing 75% marks and above in H.S.L.C. Examination. He further added that, Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya, promise to introduce the students to the modern ways of institutional education and to establish the college as a base for modern education, with all national-standard amenities of education. Dr. Ajit Barua, President, Governing Body Golaghat Jatiya Mahavidyalaya said, “The education system has gone through various reform measure and I am sure that the newly born institution will try its level best to achieve the goal of reforms by creating an environment relevant to the present age”
Dr. Viveka Nanda Sarma, Principal Bokakhat College, Dr. Shobha Devi Sarma, Principal Joya Gogoi College, Dr. P.L. Bhuyan, Principal Golaghat Commerce College, Arun Duara, President ACTA Golaghat Unit were also present on the occasion.
