Nunisa reiterates the Dimaraji issue

Dilip Nunisa, Chairman Dima Halam Daogah (cease fire) reiterated the demand of Dima Raji while expressing unhappiness for the delay in solving the Dima Raji issue during last long eight years since ceasefire. The DHD came under cease fire agreement with Central and State government on January1, 2003.

Regarding Legislative Sub-Committee constituted by the then Minister Shrimati Pramila Brahma, Minister Bhumidhar Barman and others in order to study the Dima Raji issues, DHD chief Nunisa said it has not been confirmed whether the Sub-Committee reports was submitted to the Union Government or not till date. Hence, the government should systematically study the Dima Raji problems.

Besides, Shri Nunisa stated that his DHD cadres were now involved in the various social works during 8 years since its cease fire agreement with the Government, which was well cooperated by people of the concerned areas.

DHD chief Dilip Nunisa appreciated the settlement of 15-year Gurkha movement just after influential and the first woman CM Shrimati Mamata Banarjee assumed the power of West Bengal State Government, saying on the contrary that it does not require the long 8 years for Assam Government to resolve the Dima Raji issue raised by DHD and several other NGOs. Such delay in solving the Dimasa problem could be termed as the failure of Government, Nunisa added.
