Plum portfolios for Gogoi’s trusted ministers

Minister Tarun Gogoi keeps home, finance political, personal and Guwahati development with him. His trusted ministers have retained the vital portfolios apart from some additional charges they have been given this time. Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma get education and Assam Accord implementation and retains the health department. Rockybul Hussian will hold panchayat and rural development department apart from forest. Former Assam Assembly Speaker Prithvi Majhi gets revenue and labour departments. Pranati Phukan gets cultural affairs, handloom and textile while Ajanta Neog retains PWD. Border development has gone to Siddique Ahmed. Akon Bora continues social welfare. Same it is in the case of Chandan Brahma who has been given transport in addition to tourism. Nilomoni Sen Deka has been gets agriculture department and parliamentary affairs. Rajiv Luchan Pegu will hold water resources and plains tribe portfolios. Kharsing Ingty will hold the hills area development and Pradyut Bordoloi will continue his power and industry portfolios. Tanka Bahadur Rai will go with planning and development, law and pension. Basanta Das be at the helm of affairs in the fishery, printing and Janasongyog. Gautom Roy to get public health engineering and Ardhendu Dey holds irrigation and soil conservation. Dr Nazrul Islam retains food and civil supply.
