HSLC and AHM result bring jubilation among the people of Dhubri district

This year, High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) Examination result of Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) has brought lots of good news for the people of Dhubri district.


Washim Youhana, a student of Bethel Baptist Mission School of Dhubri town has secured the 18th rank in this year's HSLC examination. He has got letter marks in all the six subjects (General Mathematics, Advance Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, and Hindi) securing 545 marks out of 600.


This year, a student of Dhubri Jatiya Vidyalaya, Mirsaidiee Hussain, has secured highest mark in General Mathematics in HSLC examination. He has got 99% of marks in that subject.


Again, Anamika Debnath, a student of Naba Bharat Jatiya Vidiyalya of Golakganj, has become the highest mark holder in Elective Assamese by securing 85% marks.


Samima Yesmin Prodhani of Madinatul Ulum High Madrassa of Gauripur has made people of Dhubri proud by securing the highest mark in General Mathematic in this year's AHM examination. She got 88% in that subject.


The overall HSLC & AHM examination result of Dhubri district is satisfactory. In HSLC examination, out of 12667 numbers of students of this district, 788 numbers of students have got first division, 2199 numbers of students are in second division and 6221 numbers of students have secured third division. The percentage of students passed in HSLC from this district is 72.69.


Again, in AHM examination, 1189 numbers of students appeared out of which 881 numbers of students are successful. 26 numbers of students have passed in first division, 312 numbers of students are in second division, and 543 numbers of students have secured third division. The overall pass percentage of the students from this district in AHM examination is 76.28%.

NDFB linkmen arrested in Dhubri

On the night of May 22, 19th Madras Regiment of Army arrested two persons as NDFB linkmen from Kamalajhar under Gauripur police station of Dhubri district. Kidnappers release abducted accountant of Golakganj Branch of SBI

CCTV installed in Dhubri District Library after 20 days delay

Dhubri District Administration had set up closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the District Library on April 24, which is being used as strong room for the EVMs of Dhubri, Gauripur and Golakganj Assembly Constituencies. It is mentionable here that those EVMs were put in that strong room on April 11. The candidates from different political parties, except Congress, have shown their displeasure over the matter. Those cameras should been in place from that very date when the those EVMs were brought there, they complained. Twelve quintals ganja seized from Chagolia

On the night of April 21, the Dhubri police seized more then twelve quintals of contraband ganja from a mini truck (bearing number plate AS-19C/3012) from a parking place of Chagolia Entry Gate of Assam-West Bengal Inter State Border of Dhubri district. The truck was loaded with vegetables and was coming from Bokajan (Assam). According to the police the worth of the seized ganja weighting near about 12,700 kilograms is more then Rupees Sixty Lakh. In this connection, the police arrested three persons: truck driver Ram Chandra Mahato and Ashmat Ali and Enal Houqe.

Misuse of funds in Dhubri election

There is an allegation that corruption running unabatedly in Dhubri Election Office. It is learnt that on June 2010, a tender was called by the said office for the supply of printing materials for the financial year 2010-11 in the name of Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri. In that tender, total 15 printing presses took part and two or three printing presses failed to submit their tender papers as per the terms and conditions. But to favor those presses, office prepared a false C.S. report by clearly mentioning that the office found the documents of those presses as proper, even though they had failed.
