Haflong girl makes Dima Hasao proud
Despite all odds, Ms Narmita Dutta, student of St. Agnes Convent High School, daughter of Sri Nepal Ranjan Dutta and Nilima Dutta,Haflong makes the district of Dima Hasao proud, securing highest marks in English in the entire State of Assam in the just declared result of High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2011.
She also secured letter marks in six subjects like English, General Science, General Maths, Social Studies, Advanced Maths and in Hindi.
Talking to the media persons Narmita said she was very happy and wanted give all the credits to her parents and teachers for her success. She wants to peruse her studies in engineering.

At least eight passengers including five women of Lumding bound Hill Queen train were injured when the lead engine rammed with the standing train at Lower Haflong on Friday. The injured persons were given first aid and seriously injured persons were sent to Haflong Civil Hospital. In a tragic accident, at least three persons died on the spot and two others injured seriously when two mobikes reported to be pulsar involved in head on collision on 54 E National Highway at Didaodip, near Maibang in Dima Hasao on Tuesday at about 12.30 Pm.
