AGP's failure in upper Assam

In the last asssembly election, the Asom Gana Parished was unable to get a single seat in upper Assam along with other 12 district of Assam. Under Golaghat district - Sarupather, Bokakhat, Khumtai and Golaghat LACs are captured by the INC. It is mentionalbe that the Golaghat is the birth place of AGP. In Jorhat district all 6 LACs are own by the congress. In Sivasagar all 6 LACs, in Dibrugar 6 out of total 7 LACs and in Tinsukia district 4 out of 5 LACs were gone to the Congress Party. In entire Upper Assam only Dibrugar and Dumduma LAC own by the opposition BJP. AGP lost in Sarupather, Khumtai, Dergaon, Amguri, Tingkhang, which were in their hand after the Assembly election of 2006. In entire upper Assam AGP faild to show its existance in any constituency.

The Nazira unit of All India Krishok Sobha observed its foundation day with a day long programme  at Natiya Mandir on Tuesday.The organization took out a long procession in the town to mark the occasion to be marked by a public meeting the at Nazira Natiya Mandir where Left veterans Durpod Borgohain Kanok Gogoi were also present along with other dignatories. The meeting demanded immediate withdrawal of the move to amend the Land Acquisition Bill 2013 along with measures to prevent erosion in Assam, pension for agricultural labours, solve the unemployed problem and stop privatization move.

ONGC will start its state-of-the-art hospital in Rajabari in December this year.This was what AASU told reporters in Nazira after a meeting with the oil major officials on Thursday.ONGC officials further agreed to implement other promises in the meeting with AASU leaders in Jorhat. Rijit Konwar of Nazira Higher Secondary & Mulit Purpose School secored 10th position in the HSLC examination 2015. He   got totel  587 marks. Though several organizations are voicing their opinion on the process of NRC, the Government of Assam is all up to complete the task of updation. In Nazira rural some 50 per cent people are not aware of the NRC updation. The indigenous communities have kept away from collecting NRC data from available sources on the pretext that they are indigenous. They perceive it as a matter of insult to their native origin and ego.Similar is the condition of the indigenous populations of the district of Sibsagar.
