CEM plants saplings

In connection with the celebration of 60th Foundation Day of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, the Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Debojeet Thaosen planted saplings ceremonially in the premises of Dibarai High School playground along-with the Executive Members, Bijoyendra Sengyung, Kalijay Sengyung, Bakul Bodo and the Chief Conservator of Forest Bikash Brahma, DFO, T. saikia, ACF H. Bathari and others on 29.4.11


The CEM while appreciating the Dibarai villagers for taking initiative for the preservation at a time when deforestation is prevailing, appealed to the villagers to give more importance on preservation of forest, plants and wetlands.


This plantation was assisted by the Dima Hasao Forest department providing saplings, fencing etc. Sri Bikash Brahma, IFS,Chief Conservator of Forest, Dima Hasao,Haflong also discloed that a scheme was being taken for the preservation and beautification of Dibarai lake alongwith the beautification Dibarai Village.


Earlier, the Gaon Bura, Amrit Kemprai welcome all the dignitaries along with CEM, EMs and government officials and appealed to extend their helping hands in their endeavour so that the Dibarai village could be made a role model in the district of Dima Hasao.

Passengers stranded for hours as train derails

11th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council election passed off peacefully

With the casting of 80% plus of votes in the polling to the 11th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council election passed off peacefully and with great enthusiasm among the people of Dima Hasao District. Right from the morning 7 am, people were seen in long queue at almost all the polling stations in and around Haflong. In the morning casting of votes was 27 % which increased gradually. Power tariff hearing on Saturday

The Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission on Saturday will hear a petition challenging Assam State Electricity Board’s move to hike in power tariff. Dima Hasao election: 1st Poll party left Haflong

Though there have been reports of road block in few areas due to yesterday’s incessant rain, but the polling officials are seemed to be very enthusiastic in regards to the election to the 11th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council slated to be held on May 20. The polling officials were seen gathering in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao right from 6 am of Friday.
