Manjit Das of Barpeta brings glory to Barpeta





Dr. Manjit Das, professor of Economics, M.C. College Barpeta has been awarded the SCHOLL Research Challenge Award for the year 2010. This award was given by North-East Development Foundation and Co- funded by Canada's International Development Research Centre( (IDRC), a crown corporation and an agency of the government of Canada. This award was offered to young researchers below forty years of age for their valuable research in the filed of "Livelihood, Employment & Enterprise Promiotion". This award was given to five other young researchers along with Dr. manjit Das and it bears a citation, a medal and an amount of Rs.2500/-. By his research work Dr Das was able to point out the probaility of the employment opportunities through the ericulture and reduce poverty from our society. The people of Barpeta felt proud of his activities. He is the youngest son of Niranjan Das and Binapani Das of Sundaridiya of Barpeta.
