CM campaigns for Suresh Bora at Barhampu

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi attended an election campaign rally at Barhampur in Nagaon on Sunday for the Congress Candidate Suresh Bora who is contesting from 87 No Barhampur LAC. Gogoi was welcomed by Rockybul Hussain and Suresh Bora. The president of Nagaon Dist. Congress Committee Bharat Bhuyan chaired the meeting. Gogoi on his speech again criticized the sitting MLA of Barhampur LAC Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. Gogoi told that Congress is only the party who feel the pain of common people and so during their period, the congress government has implemented numerous policies for the benefit of common people. The regularization of salary of government employees, opening of Medical and Engineering Colleges, social security and implementation of health care projects etc. have already attracted a large section of people in the society, he told. Gogoi added, “Congress only believes in development. I am criticized by many leaders of different political parties and blamed me that the different developmental activities and implementing projects in the state is a politics. If they think it is a politics, let them think. I will continue my work for the people.”


He again told that P.K.Mahanta during his term didn’t work for the development of the constituency. He assured the public that the congress government will change the face of the constituency if the public provide their support in favor of the congress candidate Suresh Bora. During his busy schedule he again pointed Mahanta as the leader involved with the secret killings in the state. Gogoi appealed the crowd to cast their vote in favour of congress in the poll. The rally was attended by more than 2000 people.
