voter awareness campaign failed to make impact on Dr.Manmohan Singh, Prim Minister of India, as he did not cast vote here. What do you expect from general public? Though he later on said that he has casted vote throuh Postal Ballot, he had to give the explanation due to report in the media fearing criticism- one feel.

FIR lodged against GPC president, secretary

Guwahati: Alleging that the city based press club had ‘designed to give space to a separatist leader of a banned armed outfit which emerged as a terrorist outfit to threat the sovereignty and integrity’ of India, an FIR has bene lodged against the president and general secretary of Gauhati Press Club (GPC). EC likely to announce poll schedule by March first week

Dhemaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dropped hint of the announcement of poll schedule for Assam along with West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry by the first week of March. ULFA threatens to kill 2 kidnapped oil firm officials

Guwahati: The United Liberation Front of Asom has warned of dire consequences for two private oil exploration firm officers whom they kidnapped two months back from Arunachal Pradesh demanding ransomed. Mandarin duck spoted near Assam's Dibru Saikhowa

Probably, for the first time in recent history, a mandarin duck has been spoted near the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park in Assam.
