Batradava Thaan Managing committee against Gautam Bora
The boycott of education minister of Assam Gautam Bora by Batadrava Thaan Managing committee for his failure in fulfilling the request regarding the correction of the mistake in text book of social science of Class IV under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan has not ended till today. It is to mention that the textbook showed that Srimanta Sankardev was born at Patekabori instead of Batadrava Alipukhuri as alleged by the Thaan managing commitee. Today the Batadrava Thaan Managing committee submitted a petition to the president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), appealed for the cancellation of the party ticket of Assam Education minister Gautam Bora which is provided to contest from 84 Batadrava LAC. While talking to media the secretary of Batadrava Thaan Managing committee Dr Pradip Kumar Dev Mahanta told “We don’t want Gautam Bora to be the candidate and we strongly oppose Bora’s candidature from the LAC. We don’t have any conflict with congress party.” Further he told that the people cannot accept him as an eligible representative who played game with the sentiments and emotions of the people. The committee requested the APCC to review on the matter and hope to place some other as a congress candidate from the said constituency. No doubt, the dissatisfaction over the candidature to a socially boycotted person will largely hamper the party during the forth coming Assam poll.

The members of Assam Rajyik Kerosene Feriwallla Santha (ARKFS) marched a protest rally in Nagaon town on Wednesday against the recent decision of Food, Civil supply & Consumer Affairs Authority of Assam, regarding the fixation of the quantum of S.K.Oil at 440 liters a month for distribution among the consumers by street hawkers. To protest against the price hike and NC Hills scam, the Nagaon district youth committee of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) marched a rally with placards in Nagaon on Monday. The members of the rally raised slogan against the price hike and NC Hills multi crore scam.
