JNH Waimijing condemn blast at Haflong
The Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom (JNH), the Dimasa Apex Body, Central Committee, Haflong Dima Hasao District, and the Waimijing (NGO), Haflong, condemned in the strongest of terms the Grenade blast which occurred at the residence of Shri. Subrata Hojai, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council and the subsequent recovery of anther Grenade at the official quarter premises of Shri. Mayanon Kemprai, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council on 02nd March 2011 just one day after the discovery of a Grenade at a Petrol Pump in the heart of Haflong town on 01st March'2011, staed a press release signed by Shri Dethang Naiding and Shri Sarbojit Thaosen, presidents of Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom the Waimijing (NGO), respectively
The release maintained that the JNH and Waimijing (NGO), were of the opinion that the government machinery, (law and order, security forces) was not doing enough to nab the culprits and the anti-social elements involved in such destructive activities. In the past few months, they have seen that there have been more than 15 bomb blasts in various places around Dima Hasao District including sabotage of railway track, but so far not a single person has been arrested in this connection. If such activity continues at the time when the State Assembly Elections has just been declared, it was quite doubtful whether the elections can ever be held in a free and fair manner.
It is therefore high time that the Government should act with a strong hand without considering any person, community or group to which the anti-social elements belong. Henceforth, the JNH and Waimijing (NGO), will not and shall not allow the peace and tranquility of the district to be disrupted by unscrupulous people in any manner, the release added.

Longchiui, a village only 3 Km away from the Umrangso, the only industrial township of Dima Hasao is yet to see the light of development. The village was established by the affected people of Kopili Hydro Electric Project as their ancestral village Sikilangso was taken by the NEEPCO way back in 1976. Acting on a tip off, Haflong police nabbed two cadres of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) from Mahur, 35 KM from Haflong on Monday. Following repeated interrogation of these cadres one AK Riffle, two magazine and 58 rounds of ammunition were recovered from one Lunjahao Lienthang of Numjang village under Mahur police station. Both the cadres identified as Thancha Khingsai, 27 of Changpijang under Mahur PS and Lansen Kuki, 25 of Mulkon under Maibang police station were brought to Haflong Police station for further interrogation.
