PCB Officials to visit Guwahati on Sep 22

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will send two of its officials in Guwahati to inspect the facilities and the security of the forthcoming ODI between Indian vs Pakistan which is scheduled to be held in the city on November 5. As per the programme the two officials of PCB - Zakir Khan and S Khan will visit Guwahati on September 22 and will return back on the same day.

The secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Bikash Baruah said, two officials first visit Nehru Stadium, the venue of the match and later they would also check the facilities of few hotels where Pakistan team would likely to stay during their visit to Guwahati. Suru Nayak, manager, cricket operation of BCCI, will also accompany the Pakistan team during this tour.

Baruah also added that the PCB team would likely to meet few top officials of the police department to collect the information regarding the security that would be provided both the team during the match.

It may be mentioned here that it is for the first time ACA will host any India vs Pakistan tie and keeping in mind the tension of the match the ACA has decided to provide watertight security to both the teams. It will not be a matter of surprise if the movement of the people is restricted, atleast 15 days before the match, in side the RG Baruah Sports complex.

A source from the ACA, said that a meeting would be held in the last part of this month between the ACA officials and the top officials of the security department where it is expected that details security plan of the match will be chalked out .
