KMSS demonstrated in Nagaon

6-years-old Shreyashi Saikia of Loyla High School performed Satriya Dance during North East Children Book Fair 2010 held at Nehrubali, Nagaon on November 14. It is note worthy to mention that the expressions and the mood of performance enthralled the audience present in the cultural show. The North East Children Book Fair 2010 held on November 6-14. While talking to the media, the secretary Munindra Saikia informed that the Book fair was quite successful with a sell of about Rs.70 lakhs.

Indian Council for Cultural relations (ICCR) conducted a workshop on Bharatnatyam, Satriya and Bihu dance in collaboration with Antara Kala Kendra, Nagaon which successfully concluded on Sunday. In connection with the closing ceremony of the workshop, the participants attended the same, performed at the cultural programme held at Nagaon district library auditorium. With the durga puja round the corner, the different durga puja committees across the town are in the midst of creating colorful pandals and the famous structures. The Nagaon Bengali Sanmilani, one of the oldest organizations of Nagaon gearing up for Puja Celebration. More than 30 numbers of artisans from Kolkata have been engaged to decorate the puja pandal which is almost complete. According to preliminary findings of the Million Death Study (MDS), about 25 percent of deaths in the age group of 25-69 years and 19 percent of all deaths occur because of heart diseases, including 33 percent of deaths in the urban areas and 23 percent in the rural areas.
