BJP firebrand Varun Gandhi says illegal migration from Bangladesh into the country is a grave issue. On his 3 day trip to Assam which began on Tuesday, he said the immigration is a national issue which cannot be underminded. According to him, lack of development, unemployment and corruption were the other burning issues confronting the state for decades.
Gandhi in his maiden trip to Assam after taking over the state's party affairs said the party should identify strong candidates and key areas in a bid to win the poll. He said friendly parties are important for the BJP but the party has the capacity to fight alone any election. He said is keen to travel in the state to know the pulse of the people. Earlier in the day Gandhi addressed youth workers and stressed strengthening of the party.
