Golden Jubilee preparation of Kolongporiya Aalochana Chakra

The one of the oldest literary organization of Assam, Kolongporiya Aalochana Chakra of Nagaon will celebrate its 50th anniversary in the month of September this year. The organization was established in the year 1961 by some of the well-known literary personalities of Nagaon. To promote the literary activities in the state, the organization has been working since its establishment day .To carryout the celebration of golden jubilee, a reception committee has been formed at the meeting which held at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Nagaon in the month of July The programs of the year long celebration, from September 2010 to September 2011 has also been fixed in the meeting as stated by Pranjal Bordoloi, the convener of Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee. For successful celebration of the year long programme, Dr Sanjib Kr Borkakati was selected as president, Professor Muhiuddin Ahmed as working president, Haren Hazarika as general secretary and Pranjal Bordoloi, Gita Saikia Bharali and Budhen Kumar Saikia as Assistant General Secretaries of the celebration committee. In the month of September, the organization will hold its inaugural function. In the month of October, the organization will hold a literary workshop at Borjoha, some 15 km away from Nagaon In November the organization will present Kolongporiya Xahitya Award along with the release of the journal “Kolong Jyoti”. The organization will also release a book written by its members in the month of December. Beside all, the organization will also organize literary competitions, felicitation program and Dr. Sarbeswar Rajguru memorial lecture respectively.
