One person died, another injured as a police constable unleashed terror among the members of his family in Guwahati on Tuesday. The incident took place at Lotakota area in the city. It was at around 8:30 in the evening when constable Bimal Phukan shot dead his father in law Shabed Ali when they clashed over property. Phukan who works with Paltan Bazar police station is abscoonding.

After days of will-they-won’t-they, police have arrested Akhil Gogoi on Sunday in connection with the recent protest in Kaziranga.
