Diarrhea hits Guwahati once again

Guwahati: Just few days after the water borne disease Diarrhea hit the people of Padum Pukhuri area of Uzanbazar area in Guwahati, once again outbreaks have been reported from the Krishnapur area near Beltola Guwahati on Friday. Two children Krishna Choudhury (7) and Rabi Das (10) have been found infected by the diarrhea disease till the report last came in. It may be mentioned that on 22nd of this month, two children died because of Diarrhea besides affecting 14 others who were later hospitalised at GMCH hospital for further treatment. Worried residents of Guwahati city were taking all sorts of precautionary measures.

Dolphin found dead in Jogighopa

A carcass of a sub-adult female Gangetic Dolphin (Platanista gangetica) was recovered by a joint effort of Aaranyak and Forest Protection Squad of Aie Valley Division from the Brahmaputra river at Jogighopa on 6th October 2008. The information was sent by Abbas Ali, one of the members of the network of Gangetic Dolphin Research and Conservation Programme of Aaranyak lead by Dr. Abdul Wakid. Blast in Sivsagar

Creating panic among the common people, a bomb blasted in the Rang-ghar Chariali area, Sivsagar on today afternoon. According to the reports last came in, 10 people have been injured in the blast. Injured persons have been taken to the nearby hospital. No casualty has been reported so far. Security has been tightened in the entire Sivsagar Distrct following the incident.
